Candler Hills – Ocala Retirement Community

The Candler Hills Golf Course is an 18 hole, semi-private, par 72 course designed by Gordon Lewis. PGA and LPGA professional on staff and there are regularly scheduled special golf and social events. Tees range from 4877 to 7333 yards. The community is a gated retirement community, available to adults 55 and older. Located in Southwest Ocala, off the 200 corridor convenient to shopping. Amenities include pool, club house, health facilities and restaurant. Most homes range from 1500-3000 square feet concrete block construction, with prices from $150,000 to $400,000. HOA fees range from $200-250.

Cherry Wood Retirement Community in Ocala

Cherry Wood Retirement Community is conveniently located off the 200 corridor on the southwest side of Ocala near shopping and restaurants. Homes are priced lower than many of the other Ocala retirement communities. Prices range from $50,000 to $200,000 with HOA fees between $100 and $200. Construction is concrete block with stucco and homes range from 1000 to 2300 square feet. The community has a club house has a fitness center, billiards area and a library. Other amenities include an outdoor pool, tennis courts and a bocce ball court.

Del Webb Spruce Creek Golf and Country Club

Del Webb Spruce Creek Golf and Country Club is located South of Ocala in Summerfield, FL. Just north of The Villages, you can get to either Ocala or The Villages in 20 minutes. There are 4 distinct 9 Hole Courses in this active gated retirement community. Amenities include a large club house with fitness center, indoor and outdoor pool, tennis courts and much more. Home prices range from $100,000 to $400,000 with square footage averaging between 1100 and 3500. The community has homes with frame as well as block construction. HOA fees average $120-180.

Fairways Condominimums – Ocala Retirement Condominimums

Fairways Condominiums offer an affordable alternative in retirement living on the southeast side of Ocala, just 2 miles from the new Walmart. These 2 bedroom 2 bath condos range from 800 to 1500 square feet and are typically priced between $25,000 and $85,000.  Many units have a picturesque view of the golf fairway. The development has a pool, tennis courts, basketball courts and a variety of clubs and activities. HOA fees range from $150 to $250.

Indigo East Retirement Community in Ocala

Indigo East is an affordable Florida retirement community on the southwest side of Ocala, located off the 200 corridor near shopping and restaurants. These 3 bedroom 2 bath homes are built from concrete block and range from 1200 to 2000 square feet. Prices start at $120,000, with HOA fees around $150. Indigo East is a gated community has a club house and a pool.

Marion Landing – Ocala Retirement Community

Marion Landing is another nice affordable retirement community in Ocala, located on the southwest side of town close to shopping and a variety of restaurants.  Homes are 2-3 bedrooms and range in size from 1200 to 2000 square feet. Construction is both frame and concrete block (with a few mobile homes), and prices range from $50,000 to $175,000. The community has a nice club house with a bowling alley, a large swimming pool, tennis courts, and a small fishing pond. HOA fees are around $100 to $150 per month.

Oak Run

Oak Run is a large gated retirement and golf community on the Southwest side of Ocala. They boast an 18 hole golf course, multiple fitness centers, indoor and outdoor pools, and 2 restaurants. Home prices range from $50,000 to $400,000, with HOA Fees from $100 to $300 on average. Homes range in size from 800 square ft 2 bedroom homes up to 4 bedroom 3000 square ft homes, with the oldest sections constructed in 1980s.

On Top of The World

Dating back to 1982, On Top of the World has a variety of homes available ranging in price from $50,000 to $300,000. Construction is concrete block / stucco with 14 floor plans available ranging in size from 1000 to 3000 square ft. HOA Fees average $300-400/mo with a multitude of amenities including fitness centers, spas, salons, 3 golf courses, 6 pools, club house walking trails, several restaurants and more. Located on the Southwest side of Ocala off the 200 corridor, the community is close to shopping and a variety of restaurants.

Palm Cay Retirement Community in Ocala

Palm Cay is a friendly affordable Florida retirement community in Ocala. Palm Cay has many of the amenities of the more expensive communities, including an indoor / outdoor pool, and a large club house with fitness center, craft room and full kitchen. Other amenities include tennis courts, shuffle board, and horse shoes. The community is conveniently located just off the 200 corridor on the southwest side of town near plenty of restaurants and shopping. Home construction is frame with aluminum or vinyl siding. Most homes are 2 bedrooms with 700 to 1600 square feet, and range in price from $45,000 to just over $100,000. HOA fees are also modest at around $100/month.

Pine Run Estate – Ocala Retirement Community

Pine Run Estate is an affordable Florida Retirement Community on the southwest side of Ocala. Conveniently located near many restaurants and shopping, this community offers a lot for the price. The property has 2 club houses, a pool, tennis courts and 24 hour gate patrol. The homes are frame construction with aluminum siding and range in size from 700 to 1700 square feet. Prices range from $35,000 to $100,000, with HOA fees under $100/month.

Quail Meadow Retirement Community in Ocala

Quail Meadow is a 55+ Retirement Community in northwest Ocala. Homes are both frame with vinyl siding and concrete block with stucco. Floor plans include both 2 and 3 bedrooms ranging in size from 1200 to 2200 square feet. The community has a nice club house with a pool, with modest HOA fees under $50/mo. Home prices range from $100,000 to around $250,000.

Spruce Creek Preserve Retirement Community in Ocala

Located in Dunnellon, 30 minutes Southwest of Ocala, Spruce Creek Preserve is a gated retirement community with an 18 hole, par 71 golf course. Other amenities include clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, horse shoes, and basketball courts. Home prices range from $50,000 to $200,000 on average, with HOA fees from $120 to $150. Most homes are 2 to 3 bedrooms with 800 to 2600 square ft. Construction is varied.

Spruce Creek South Retirement Community

Located in Summerfield, south of Ocala and just north of The Villages, Spruce Creek South is a nice gated Florida golf retirement community with more modestly priced homes. With three 9-hole courses that can be played in combination of two for an 18 hole round, club house and pool. Home prices range from around $60,000 to $200,000, with HOA fees ranging from $120-175.  Construction in the community is both frame with vinyl siding and concrete block with stucco.

Stone Creek Retirement Community in Ocala

Stone Creek is a gated retirement community in Ocala with an 18-hole par-72 golf course and a nice club house with all of the amenities including a very large pool.  Located on the southwest side of Ocala near shopping and a variety of restaurants, Stone Creek is a nice community for those over 55. Home prices range from $175,000 to $400,000, with HOA fees from $150 to $400. Construction is concrete block with stucco and are in a variety of floor plans with 1500 to 3000 square feet.

Stonecrest Retirement Community

Stonecrest is a beautiful gated community for seniors located in Summerfield, between Ocala and The Villages. Home prices range from $125,000 to $450,000 with a variety of floor plans with square feet from 1200 to 3000. Homes are both frame and block construction with stucco. The 18-hole par-72 golf course has a nice club house. The grounds also have a fitness center, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools and softball diamonds. HOA fees range from $100 to $200.

Summerglen Retirement Community in Ocala

Summerglen is a modest but beautiful senior community located on the southwest side of Ocala. Convenient to I-75,  Summerglen provides easy access to Orlando. The 18-hole par-72 golf course has a beautiful club house. Amenities also include a fitness center, huge pool, tennis courts and more. The size of the homes varies between 1500 and 3000 square feet, with prices ranging from $150,000 to $300,000. Construction is primarily concrete block with stucco. HOA fees range from $125 to $175.

The Villages Retirement Community

The Villages is one of the largest and most popular retirement communities in the world. With their own city name and zip code, The Villages now reside in portions of 3 counties just south of Ocala. The development has 3 town centers with plenty of shopping, restaurants and entertainment. There are 32 9-hole golf courses, with the average hole at a par 3. Construction varies, including mobile homes, concrete block and frame construction. Size and prices also vary significantly. You can find everything from $125,000 to $2 million or more in The Villages. HOA fees average $150-250, however many homes also have an outstanding bond balance that was placed when the home was new.
